چکیده

Introduction: Hyperaggregation of platelets can cause the formation of thrombi and subsequent occlusion of blood vessels leading to ischemia. This phenomenon can be responsible for ischemic cardiovascular diseases such as angina pectoris, atherosclerosis, stroke and other forms of ischemia. To decrease platelet function and reduce the formation of thrombi, acetylsalicylic acid has been used for antithrombotic treatment, with several studies showing its effectiveness. Therefore it is necessary to use a laboratory tool to monitor the effectiveness of treatment, which is achieved through laboratory testing of platelet aggregation. Method: Two different examinations (impedance and turbidimetry) were compared in 30 adult patients of both genders taking acetylsalicylic acid. Conclusion: The results show that there is a good correlation between these two methods and so both these techniques can be used in the clinical routine.

Platelet impedance aggregation in whole blood and its inhibition by antiplatelet drugs.

Platelet aggregation was studied in citrated whole blood by an electrical impedance method. Blood samples from normal volunteers were studied with the aim of finding a suitable method for the routine study of samples from patients. An erratic tracing and low maximum aggregation were seen in samples with a high normal haematocrit. Optimal aggregation was seen when blood was diluted to a haematoc...

Synthesis of N-arylmethyl Substituted Indole Derivatives as New Antiplatelet Aggregation Agents

A number of N-arylmethyl substituted indole derivatives have been synthesized and their effectiveness against ADP and arachidonic acid induced platelet aggregation in human plasma was determined. The desired compounds were synthesized by reacting the appropriate aniline derivative with isatin (or substituted isatin) to form the corresponding imine structures. The so formed compound was then act...

Electrochemical Synthesis of Novel 1,3-Indandione Derivatives and Evaluation of Their Antiplatelet Aggregation Activities

Electrochemical oxidation of some selected catechol derivatives, using cyclic voltammetry, in the presence of different 2-aryl-1,3-indandiones as nucleophiles, resulted in electrochemical synthesis of new 1,3- indandione derivatives in an undivided cell in good yield and purity. A Michael addition mechanism was proposed for the formation of the analogs based on the reaction conditions which wer...
